Cindy Klong
As a child I discovered a lifelong love for art. I was born in California & raised in Arizona. My mother was an oil pastel portrait artist & my maternal grandmother was a wonderful artist who painted flowers on walls & doors in her home & also created needlework & paintings of California missions such as San Juan Capistrano throughout her life. I was fortunate to be surrounded by such inspiring artistic talent.
During my college years I studied art history, design, figure drawing & painting. During my career with a large HMO I contributed illustrations for the Physicians Newsletter & did cover designs for department monthly newsletters. When I retired from the health care field in 2001 I was able to pursue art full time.
After painting murals for several years I studied oil painting with (the late) Sabastian Capella, Raye Anne Marks, Carolyn Anderson, Jeff Yeomans & Marileigh Schulte. I was a student at 2012 American Artists Weekend with the Masters with instruction from Jeremy Lipking, Daniel Gerhartz, David Leffel and Tony Pro.
