La Jolla Art Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit art organization that relies on its members for support.  Our mission is to to encourage artists who are willing and eager to learn, to grow, and to share in the process of establishing a Fine Art Community in La Jolla and the greater San Diego area.

Eligibility:

LJAA Exhibiting Membership is open to all artists living in San Diego and neighboring counties at all experience levels.  We accept oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, ink/pencil, mixed media, photography and digital artwork.  Exhibiting Membership requires a jury process.  For those interested in being affiliated with LJAA or supporting our mission, we offer Associate and Patron Memberships.

  • Exhibiting Member - Requires application, an active website, artist resume, digital samples of artwork & payment of dues.

  • Associate Member - Requires application & payment of dues only.

  • Patron - Donate to support our mission.

 

 

Benefits of Exhibiting Membership - $50/yr

  • Exhibit up to 6 pieces in our bi-monthly shows at the La Jolla Community Center. (Show submission fees apply.)

  • Participate in and invite guests to our Bi-monthly Exhibition Receptions.

  • Personalized webpage on our website with up to six images of your available art and linking to your website.

  • Exhibit another 2 pieces of your art in each of our "Find Your Art" categories online.

  • Enter juried exhibitions. (Future - show submission fees apply.)

  • Participate in virtual exhibitions on our website. (Future - Show submission fees may apply.)

  • Engage in additional exhibition opportunities as they arise.

  • Free Entry to our Monthly Art Demonstrations for you and 1 guest. 

  • Opportunities to Volunteer.

Exhibiting Membership Application Process:
  • Complete the Membership Application Form selecting "Exhibiting Membership".  You will need to be prepared to attach your 1) Artist Biography; 2) Artist Resume; 3) Six recent (within past 3 years) images of your artwork.  Your resume should include your exhibition and education history and list of honors/awards.
  • If you are jurying into two categories, please provide 3 images of each medium.
  • Upon receipt of fully completed application, the Board of Directors will review.
  • Notice of acceptance/denial will be sent within four weeks. 
  • Upon acceptance, you may either pay your dues online or or by check to La Jolla Art Association, 6800 La Jolla Blvd, La Jolla, CA  92037.

  • Participate in and invite guests to our Bi-monthly Exhibition Receptions.

  • Enter juried exhibitions. (Future)

  • Free Entry to our Monthly Art Demonstrations for you and 1 guest. 

  • Opportunities to Volunteer.

Associate Membership Application Process:
  • Complete and sign the Membership Application Form selecting "Associate Member".
  • Acceptance is unconditional.
  • Pay your annual dues.  Dues are $50/ calendar year.  You can either pay your dues online or by check to La Jolla Art Association, 6800 La Jolla Blvd, La Jolla, CA  92037.

Patron - Tax Deductible Donation

  • Support the development of artists in the La Jolla/San Diego area. 

  • Participate in and invite guests to our Bi-monthly Exhibition Receptions.

  • Free Entry to our Monthly Art Demonstrations for you and 1 guest. 

  • Opportunities to Volunteer.

Patron Membership Application Process:
  • Complete the Membership Application Form selecting "Patron"
  • Select your desired level of support.
  • Submit your donation electronically or via check. 
  • Mail your check to La Jolla Art Association 6811 La Jolla Boulevard, La Jolla CA 92037.
