Drawing and painting for most of my life, I devolved to watercolor as my medium. Most inspired and influenced by the outdoor environment and light of southern California, I adapt my plein aire renderings to accomodate the changing atmospheric conditions of nature. A life-time student of art and culture, I was influenced as a child by my local exposure to the Wyeth tradition.
I began attending studio classes in oil at the Boston Museum School of Art. Upon re-locating to LaJolla in 1979, I began classes at the Atheneum where I am still active. I have been mentored in watercolor by George Lykos, Charles Webber, and Tim Clark. I continue to seek out new methods of expression through participation in workshops and classes in San Diego, Orange County, and Chaddsford , PA.
My artwork may be viewed and purchased at the La Jolla Art Association, San Diego Watercolor Society; and through the Rancho Santa Fe Art Guild.
